Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria has officially commenced the registration for its 2026/2027 Post UTME screening exercise
If you chose ABU as your first-choice institution and scored 180 or above in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), you’re eligible to participate in the screening exercise.

Who Can Apply?
The Post UTME screening is open to candidates who meet the following requirements:
- Choose Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria as their first choice institution during UTME or D.E registration
- Scored 180 and above in the 2026 UTME.
Candidates who do not meet the minimum score or did not choose ABU as their first choice are not eligible to register.
ABU POST UTME Registration Fee
The screening registration fee is ₦2,000.
The fee is non refundable and can be paid online through the University’s wallet on the post utme portal or using remita after completing your registrations.
Documents Required
Before you begin your registration, ensure you have clear copies of the following documents:
- JAMB Result Slip
- O’Level Result(s) (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB)
- A’Level Result (for applicable candidates)
- Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age
- Certificate of Indigene
- National Identification Number (NIN)
- Birth Certificate/ Declaration of age
The portal accepts documents in JPEG and PDF formats. However, JPEG is recommended because it is generally easier to upload.
Step by Step Guide to Register for ABU Post UTME
If this is your first time using the ABU admission portal, follow these steps carefully.
Step 1: Visit the Registration Portal
Open your browser and visit:
On the homepage, click the Post UTME/D.E Registration button.
Step 2: Log In
Enter your JAMB Registration Number and select your State of Origin.
Click Login to continue.
Step 3: Verify Your Details
The portal will ask you to provide your email address and National Identification Number (NIN).
Enter the required information before proceeding to your dashboard.
Step 4: Complete Your Registration
On your dashboard, you’ll find different sections, including:
- Biodata
- O’Level Results
- Contact Information
Complete each section carefully. Ensure every detail matches the information on your official documents.
Step 5: Upload Your Documents
Click the navigation menu at the top-right corner of the portal and select Upload Documents.
Upload all the required documents. Make sure the files are clear and easy to read before submitting them.
Step 6: Make Payment
After completing your registration, proceed to pay the ₦2,000 screening fee.
Payment can be made through either:
* Remita
* ABU School Wallet
Once payment is successful, save or print your payment receipt for future reference.
Candidates Awaiting O’Level Results
Candidates who are still awaiting the release of their O’Level results are advised not to begin the registration process yet.
According to the University’s directive, registration should only be completed after the result has been released.
ABU Direct Entry (D.E.) Registration
Registration for Direct Entry (D.E.) candidates is now ongoing. Eligible D.E. applicants can proceed to the ABU screening portal and complete their registration.
If you previously received an “Invalid Credentials” error because your D.E. details had not yet been uploaded to the University’s portal, you can now try logging in again.
Candidates are advised to complete the registration carefully and ensure that all required information and documents are correctly provided before making payment.
“Invalid Credentials” Error and How to solve it
Some candidates may receive an “Invalid Credentials” message while trying to log in.
If this happens, it is usually due to the reason below.
- You recently changed your institution to ABU through JAMB, and your details have not yet been uploaded to the University’s portal.
If you recently changed to ABU, give the University some time to update your records before trying again.
Registration Deadline
At the time of publishing this article, Ahmadu Bello University has not announced the closing date for the 2026/2027 Post UTME registration.
Although the registration is expected to remain open till October based on previous admission exercises, candidates are strongly encouraged to complete their registration as early as possible instead of waiting until the last minute.

🚨 Important Notice on the 2026 ABU Post UTME/Admission Exercise
We have confirmed from the management of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria that there will be no Post UTME examination for the 2026/2027 admission exercise.
Instead, the University will conduct the admission exercise through online screening. This means candidates will not be required to sit for a separate Post UTME examination.
